Welcome to the 11th Annual Marion County Firefighters Benevolence Fund Saltwater Classic Fishing Tournament. We are pleased to have MacRae's of Homosassa to host this year’s tournament. This will be a one day tournament on Saturday, September 30th, 2023 with the Captain’s meeting on Friday, September 29th, 2023 @ 6PM. Captain’s meeting will be held at MacRae's of Homosassa 5300 S Cherokee Way, Homosassa, FL 34448. Tournament is open to the public; no Fire Dept. affiliation required. Hook and Line category will be Bag Limit of Red fish, Trout, Grouper (combined Red, Gag, Scamp, Black). Immediately following the weigh in will be the fish fry dinner, awards ceremony, raffle prizes, and giveaways. Included in your Boat Pre-entry fee of $150.00 (2 Anglers included any additional anglers $65.00 per person) is a tournament T-shirt, and fish fry dinner on Saturday after the weigh in. Shirts are only included in Pre-Registration. All others will be available for purchase. Children 14 and under fish free for the entire event. Entry into the tournament is not required to attend the fish fry and raffle, so plan on having family and friends join us for a guaranteed good time after a fun day of fishing. September 1st, 2023 is considered late registration and fee will be $200.00 per Boat (2 Anglers included any additional anglers $100.00 per person. Lodging

MacRae's of Homosassa 5300 S Cherokee Way, Homosassa, FL 34448 (352) 628-2602. There are a limited number of rooms and they are being rented on a first come basis. We have most of the rooms blocked off for the tournament participants at a discounted rate. Rules

All categories will be judged by weight. Cash prize based on the number of participants. Hook and Line category for 2023: Trout, Red fish, Grouper (combined Red, Gag, Scamp, Black). The top three heaviest Bag Limits will determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for each species. Each category will be paid out equally. Cash prize will be based on the number of entries per category. Tournament scale and measurement device will be provided and will be the final determination of fish weight and length. Fish weight and length will be verified by tournament judges and team captains will sign off on weight and length to prevent any dispute. In the event of a tie, money will be split between winning teams. Fishing will begin at safe light on tournament day. Weigh in will be at MacRae’s of Homosassa, exact location will be announced at the Captains meeting, and will close at 5pm. Participants must be in the designated area by 5pm in order to weigh fish. Fish may be brought by vehicle or boat to the weigh in but must have been caught by the registered team. This will be on an honor system and we feel no further explanation is required. All fish must be in accordance with FWC guidelines. All fish weighed will be donated for use in fish fry. Anglers will not be required to donate all fish caught during the day, only the fish weighed for prize money.
